Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory seeks CO-OP students for the Materials and Fuels Complex in Idaho Falls. You will work alongside scientists and engineers on engineering support for nuclear fuels and materials research, with a 4x10 schedule and on-site duties.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, developing designs, documenting drawings and specs, supporting instrumentation and electrical systems, data acquisition, testing, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student enrolled full time in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
• Minimum overall GPA 3.0
• Eligible to participate in university CO-OP program
• Must be US citizen or US Green Card holder per export control

Responsibilities

• Define requirements and develop design concepts
• Complete and document detailed design
• Develop engineering documents such as drawings, specifications, and calculations
• Support instrumentation, controls, or electrical systems design and troubleshooting
• Support software, automation, or data acquisition efforts for facility systems
• Provide engineering support during equipment installation
• Perform system and component testing and surveillance
• Perform data collection and analysis
• Solve equipment issues
• Maintain configuration of assigned facilities and systems
• Other duties as assigned based on project needs and student skill set
