Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an engineering intern to contribute to the design and development of remotely operated systems for hot cells in advanced nuclear research. You will work hands-on with experienced engineers on conceptual design, mock-up reviews, and fabrication oversight, gaining real-world experience in precision engineering.

The role emphasizes exposure to remote handling technologies within a nuclear environment, with a 4×10 on-site schedule at the Materials and Fuels

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in a Graduate degree program, or in an accelerated Undergraduate/Graduate degree program (pursuing both degrees concurrently), in an accredited Engineering program (Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering)
• A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)
• Current Resume or CV
• Unofficial Transcripts (include current and completed degree programs)
• Current class schedule and number of credits

Responsibilities

• Design and develop remotely operated systems used in hot cells for advanced nuclear research.
• Participate in conceptual design, mock-up reviews, redlining engineering drafts, and overseeing fabrication.
• Test components to ensure optimal performance and contribute to cutting-edge innovations in nuclear energy.
