Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory's CO-OP program offers extended, hands-on opportunities to apply classroom knowledge with INL's renowned scientists and engineers. CO-OPs are longer‑term commitments, typically across two or more terms (Fall, Spring, or Summer) with no required consecutive terms.

At the Materials and Fuels Complex near Idaho Falls, CO-OP students join a team providing engineering support to nuclear fuels and materials research facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be registered and eligible to participate in CO-OP education program
• Enrolled full-time in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or a closely related Engineering field
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Export control: US citizen or US Green Card required

Responsibilities

• Define requirements and develop design concepts
• Complete and document detailed design
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
• Support instrumentation, controls, or electrical systems design
• Support software, automation, or data acquisition efforts for facility systems
• Provide engineering support during equipment installation
• Perform system and component testing and surveillance
• Perform data collection and analysis
• Solve equipment issues
• Maintain configuration of assigned facilities and systems
