Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent required; six years of relevant experience for level IV engineering technician.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate highly preferred.
• Navy Nuclear Power School graduate preferred.
• High School/GED plus 2 years related experience acceptable for entry.
• High School/GED plus 4 years non-related experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Research modernization and repair impacts to propulsion plants on Nimitz Class carriers and review related technical documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering codes at NNS, NNSY, and PSNS.
• Perform shipchecks and evaluate MCRs to CVN68 Class Steam Plant Manual using propulsion knowledge.
• Develop SPM revisions with drafting/IETM teams and support QA checks of revisions.
