Newport News Shipbuilding (a division of HII) seeks a senior engineer to lead the Nuclear Construction Engineering Scoping Cell for the E80 Nuclear Propulsion Division. You will coordinate RFQ changes across nuclear, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams and manage multiple projects with senior-level stakeholders.

The role requires a U.S. citizenship, a relevant engineering degree, and extensive experience in high‑rigor nuclear environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Nuclear Construction Engineering (N.C.E.) Scoping Cell Lead for the E80's Nuclear Propulsion Division (NPD).
• Multi-discipline interface: collaborate with Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural disciplines to generate RFQ Change Orders.
• Demonstrate project management skills with multiple ongoing projects.
• Be an integral team player for the NNS Scoping Cell and collaborate with all levels of management.
