Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a qualified technician to support engineers in the Nuclear Overhaul Material Planning group. You will gather, format, and analyze technical data, produce reports, and develop documentation such as flow charts and schematics to support design changes and testing.

Responsibilities include performing calculations, preparing preliminary analyses, and using computer tools to support evaluations. Travel is up to 10%, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience.
• One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Gather, maintain, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
• Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data within trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency.
• Use a computer to perform analyses and develop documentation/reports.
• May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

High School/GED and 2 years related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
