HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA, invites qualified candidates to join as Engineer Technicians supporting Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural disciplines in the design, construction, and maintenance of nuclear-powered ships.

These roles involve translating engineering requirements into documentation and production support, working daily with engineering, planning, quality, and deckplate teams to ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality ship construction and overhaul.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience.
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience; High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.

Responsibilities

Engineer Technicians support Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural disciplines and assist in design, construction, and maintenance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines.
Engineer Technicians translate engineering requirements into executable technical documentation and production support solutions, interfacing daily with engineering, planning, quality, and deckplate operations to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality ship construction and overhaul.
