Job summary

Duke Energy’s Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering team seeks Electrical Design Engineer III or Senior Electrical Design Engineer for the Oconee Nuclear Station in Seneca, SC. You will work on AC/DC power systems, protective relaying, transformers, and motor control centers, contributing to a safe, reliable fleet.

This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration across teams, and the ability to manage projects with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to plan, organize, and estimate project tasks.
• Experience with nuclear industry standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, basis, installation and testing requirements for design changes.
• Provide technical guidance for increasingly complex problems.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches for defined problems.
• Conduct studies and manage projects with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrate strong technical and analytical competencies.
