Job summary

Duke Energy’s Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) team seeks Electrical Design Engineer I or II for the Oconee Nuclear Station in Seneca, SC. This entry‑level to mid‑level role supports design changes for AC/DC power systems, motors, transformers, and switchgear.

Ideal candidates hold ABET‑accredited engineering degrees; FE exam and PE licensure planning are preferred. Hybrid work, site access, and potential nuclear credentials are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A Master’s degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes (AC/DC power systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, relays, breakers).
• Research issues, evaluate options, and present recommendations to resolve issues.
• Provide ongoing support of design changes through work orders, CAPA assignments, and field installations.
• Develop or revise design specifications and technical requirement documents to support changes.
• Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by changes.
• Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents affected by changes.
