Job summary

Duke Energy Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) seeks an Electrical Design Engineer I or II to join the Oconee Nuclear Station team in Seneca, SC. You will develop and support design changes across AC/DC power systems, transformers, switchgear, and protective relaying, with field support and regulatory documentation updates.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education, nuclear experience, and the ability to obtain site access.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.
Ability to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance.

Develop the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes.
Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations.
Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through reviews and field activities.
Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents.
Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by changes.
Revise site design basis documents, drawings, and regulatory documents.
