Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Control Systems Engineering Specialist to join the Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions (IDES) organization.

You will drive NTI software development, validation planning, and technology transformation projects for robust, scalable drivetrain controls across machine platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software features from concept to production readiness, balancing performance, safety, maintainability, and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; engineering disciplines preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience across software, controls, and system integration.
• Experience with NTI processes and software-enabled product capabilities.
• Ability to balance performance, safety, maintainability, and cost in drivetrain mechatronics.

Responsibilities

• Lead NTI software development activities for drivetrain applications including requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and delivery.
• Develop and integrate drivetrain control solutions for transmissions, torque converters, brakes, actuators, and sensors.
• Own validation planning and execution with verification strategies and data review across simulation, bench, and machine environments.
• Drive technology transformation to improve capability, quality, and efficiency of controls workflows.
• Apply systems engineering to balance performance, durability, safety, maintainability, and cost.
• Coordinate with global teams for design reviews, software releases, integration, simulation, and validation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, simulation, and validation teams for system integration and issue resolution.
• Drive data analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action during development and validation phases.
• Contribute to standard work, best practices, and continuous improvement for drivetrain mechatronics.
