Job summary

Symrise AG in the United States is seeking an NPI / IPI Manager to drive successful product scale-up and introduce new technologies. You will lead cross-functional teams across R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to ensure safe, compliant and efficient NPD/NPI processes.

The role requires 8+ years in R&D/manufacturing in foods or related industries, plus Lean Six Sigma credentials and strong leadership abilities to influence without direct authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical or relevant fields; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant R&D and manufacturing experience in Foods or related industries.
• 3+ years of experience influencing and developing other leaders without direct reporting authority; staff management desired.
• Proven experience with manufacturing scale-up.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt an added advantage.
• Proficient in process safety; experienced in MOC and contributing to PHA/HAZOP.
• Proficient in food safety; HACCP definition and implementation experience.
• Technology-savvy; able to manage multiple projects in a complex matrix.
• Initiate and efficiently drive change management.
• Spray drying and powder blending experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD and NPI phases for successful scale-up and first production.
• Promote knowledge transfer within the Industrialization and Process Innovation Team.
• Ensure process safety, occupational safety, food safety and regulatory compliance during NPD/NPI phases.
• As SME, contribute to quality deviation investigations and preventive actions.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma projects to improve yield, efficiency and OEE.
