Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join the Special Hazards Fire Suppression NPI team at our R&D facility in Marinette, WI. You will design, develop, test, and certify fire protection products, including hardware development, prototyping, and design verification testing, with on-site collaboration.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 1+ years of experience, and proficiency with MS Office, PTC Creo, and Windchill.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
Ability to apply fundamental engineering theories, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts.
Ability to write reports and convey detailed technical information.
Familiarity with DFMEA and DFAM.
Experience with phase-gate design processes.
Ability for occasional travel.
Proficiency of MSOffice, PTC Creo and Windchill.

Responsibilities

Design, development, testing, and certification of fire protection products for our Restaurant Suppression portfolio.
Develop mechanical hardware including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, and design verification testing.
Coordinate prototype efforts and plan and execute test programs; analyze test data to optimize designs.
Maintain knowledge of manufacturing methods and design for manufacturing efficiency.
Prepare and present reports and presentations.
