Job summary

Waters Corporation is seeking a New Product Introduction Materials Scientist for the Taunton site. The role will be the technical authority on chemical processes, enabling transfer of chromatographic products from R&D to manufacturing and providing ongoing troubleshooting.

The position requires hands-on lab work, cross-functional collaboration, and regular travel between Taunton and Milford facilities to ensure product performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or related field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in an industrial and/or laboratory setting is required.
• NPI experience including technology/design transfer, scale-up, and process validation is highly desired.
• Recognized subject‑matter expert providing technical leadership without direct reporting authority.
• In-depth knowledge of HPLC is highly desired.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Technology Transfer: Introduce new chromatographic products by coordinating transfer with R&D and Chemistry Tech Support; establish manufacturing process, controls, and specifications.
• Troubleshooting & Scale-Up: Lead efforts to troubleshoot, support, and scale-up products and processes after launch.
• Experimental Design & Problem Solving: Create tests to assess process robustness and repeatability; analyze data to reach conclusions.
• Hands‑on Manufacturing: Develop procedures for manufacturing reagents, standards, and new products in small scale glassware.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Assist Engineering, Production, QA, and others with new equipment implementation and improvements.
• Any other duties as assigned.
