Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an experienced NPI Manufacturing Engineer to bring electro-mechanical products from concept to volume production. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to develop assembly strategies, resolve design-for-manufacturing issues, and enable seamless transfers to production partners.

You will define tooling, create and review assembly instructions, and drive process improvements, with emphasis on risk assessment and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and 8+ years in manufacturing engineering or NPI.
• Experience championing manufacturing activities for electro-mechanical products.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed assembly instructions and process docs.
• Experience defining mechanical tools/fixtures and qualification.
• Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action skills.
• Able to communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing activities for NPI projects from concept through production transfer.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and identify risks; propose improvements.
• Develop assembly processes, flows, and build plans aligned with quality and schedules.
• Guide hands-on builds to validate methods and identify improvements.
• Create assembly instructions and process documentation for pilots and CM partners.
• Define tool/fixture requirements and ensure qualification.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for issues.
• Coordinate packaging design and validation with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Train manufacturing personnel on methods, tooling and risks.
• Mentor engineers on best practices and process documentation.
