Job summary
MKS Instruments is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Development. You will collaborate with Product Development Engineering to bridge design and manufacturing, focusing on rapid prototyping, NPI, and smooth transitions to production.
You will lead process optimization, develop manufacturing systems, and act as a technical leader for platform integration across multiple production areas, enabling design for excellence and scalable BOMs.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Software engineering
- 2+ years of experience in a mixed production environment
- Experience with structured problem-solving tools and techniques
- Experience with SPC and process control implementation
- Lean manufacturing methodologies
- Experience leading FMEA and DFX activities
Responsibilities
- Bridge product design and manufacturing for NPI and high-mix production
- Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions
- Plan transfers to manufacturing and ensure smooth transitions
- Identify automation opportunities and contribute to their implementation
- Design assembly lines to meet takt times and balance production lines
- Lead continuous improvement projects across platforms
- Collaborate with Operations and Product Development teams to optimize processes
