Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Development in Andover, MA. You will collaborate with Product Development to bridge design and manufacturing, enabling rapid prototyping in early customer builds.

You will develop manufacturing processes, SOPs, and BOM structures, leading transfers to production while pursuing continuous improvement and automation opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Software engineering with strong design-to-manufacturing focus.
• 2+ years of experience in a mixed production environment and NPI readiness.
• Familiarity with SPC, DFx, Lean methods and process optimization.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting with minimal supervision in manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities

• Bridge product design and manufacturing for new product introductions (NPI).
• Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions; structure BOMs for scalability.
• Lead transfers to production, training, and parameter tracking for yield improvements.
• Identify automation opportunities and design lines to meet takt times.
• Collaborate with Operations and other Manufacturing Engineers on process standards.
