Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Development in the Andover/Wilmington, MA area. You will bridge design and manufacturing, enabling rapid prototyping and early customer builds while driving continuous improvement across multiple production areas.

The role focuses on developing scalable manufacturing processes, creating work instructions, and leading platform integration with Ops teams to ensure smooth transfers to production.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in a mixed production environment.
• Familiar with PFMEA/DFX, SPC, Lean manufacturing, and problem-solving tools.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate seamless transitions of new products into a high-mix production environment.
• Engage in early design concepts with a focus on design for excellence.
• Assist in structuring bills of materials to ensure manufacturing scalability.
• Develop work instructions and routings within an MES system.
• Identify and track critical process parameters to improve yield and processes.
• Plan, train, and execute the transfer to manufacturing.
• Identify automation opportunities and assist with their implementation.
• Design assembly lines to meet takt times and balance production lines.
• Execute projects for continuous improvement and development.
