Job summary

Ascentec Engineering is seeking an experienced NPI Machinist to develop machining processes for low to mid-volume production parts. This on-site role at our Tualatin headquarters requires working with CNC programming and planning to establish repeatable production methods.

The ideal candidate has seven years of precision horizontal and 5-axis CNC machining experience, GD&T expertise, and familiarity with multiple controller families (Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens).

Qualifications

• Seven years' experience in precision horizontal and 5-axis CNC machining.
• Expert reading and editing of G&M codes.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and reading technical drawings.
• Proficient with multiple metrology tools; CMM experience a plus.
• Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, and Siemens 840D controllers.
• Ability to select coolants, toolholding, and machinability parameters.
• Non-technical skills: teamwork, problem-solving, communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop repeatable production processes for low to mid-volume parts, including setup instructions and in-process inspection requirements.
• Prove out CNC programs and sustain complex parts across various equipment.
• Analyze and troubleshoot machining processes for quality and efficiency improvements.
• Develop standardized programming methods and work-holding techniques; coordinate with floor leads on capacity constraints.
