Job summary

Ascentec Engineering is seeking experienced machinists for our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters. You will set up and operate CNC mills with various controls to produce precision parts in a fast-paced, high-speed shop. The role requires reading prints, measuring parts, and maintaining tight tolerances.

Experience with 3-axis mills is essential; 4- and 5-axis experience is a plus. On-site work with shift differentials is available, and ITAR/compliance considerations apply. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for entry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail.
• Able to communicate effectively and multitask in a fast-paced shop.
• Experience with 3-axis mills; 4-5 axis is a plus; familiarity with metrology tools.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
• Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
• Set up and operate CNC mills; load programs and set/adjust offsets for Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma.
• Inspect parts per first article and in-process inspection protocols.
• Maintain tolerances of +/- .0005" and ensure 5S housekeeping.
• Change fixtures and manage tool libraries; multi-axis machining experience preferred.
