Job summary

The Children’s Guild is hiring a registered nurse to serve in Maryland school settings, providing health services and medical management for students. You will maintain health files, manage vaccinations, and support students during crises with appropriate interventions.

Ideal candidates hold Maryland RN licensure, 3+ years in a school environment, CPR/First Aid certification, and strong communication skills for teamwork with school psychiatrists and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with valid RN license in Maryland.
  • Three years of post-training nursing experience in a school setting preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a vital member of the school team delivering health services and medical management to students.
  • Maintain student health files, physicals, vaccination/immunization records, emergency forms, and dental records.
  • Supervise Certified Medication Technicians and administer medications with proper documentation.
  • Assess and support students during behavioral crises and provide therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Document notes and health suite visits promptly and write reports for health plans and staff training.
