Job summary

The Children's Guild is seeking a School Social Worker to support K-12 students and families across our Maryland and Washington DC programs. This role focuses on social-emotional development, collaboration with school leadership, and evidence-based practices within educational settings.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work and are LISW/LICSW eligible, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and a passion for serving children with diverse abilities in a school environment.

Qualifications

• MSW required or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible for LISW/LICSW in DC.
• Licensed social worker certificate in MD/DC (post-hire possible).
• Crisis management certification required or eligible.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or eligible.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with diverse children and families.

Responsibilities

• Foster social-emotional and academic development of K-12 students and families.
• Deliver individual and group interventions for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with school leaders to support children and families.
• Document using EHR and school platforms.
• Engage in data-informed practices.
