Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Managed Care seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our team at the Sanchez Unit in El Paso, Texas. APPs provide comprehensive primary, chronic, acute, and urgent care, including evaluation of new intakes and coordination of ongoing care.

The role offers opportunities to expand clinical and procedural skills while caring for a medically diverse population.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the AMA.
• Current Physician Assistant license in Texas or ability to transfer license.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner and current RN license in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient services under direct supervision and guidance of Physician or Medical Director.
• Elicits detailed patient histories.
• Examines patient and performs comprehensive physical examinations with medical data documentation.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, ECG, labs) and interprets results.
• Performs procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and ensures continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients on adherence to therapies and daily living health maintenance.
• May render emergency medical service without supervision when necessary.
