Job summary

The Hillman Group in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Material Handler to move materials and finished products using powered industrial equipment. Schedule: 3:30pm–1:00am Mon–Thu and 12:30pm–5:30pm Fri; hourly pay rate of $20.50 plus shift differential.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, using an RF scanner, stocking, transferring finished goods, and providing replenishment to workstations. A high school diploma or GED and forklift certification are required.

Job Summary

Scheduled Hours 330pm - 100am (Monday - Thursday) & 1230pm - 530pm (Friday)

Hourly Pay Rate $20.50 + Shift Differential

Supports Operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility with a variety of powered industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions *

• Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Material handling experience is strongly preferred.
• Forklift Certification required.
• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

Material Handler Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
