Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Audit Manager specializing in Not-for-Profit clients to join a leading public accounting practice in the Greater Chicagoland area.

This role emphasizes ownership of engagements, mentoring of staff, and development of long-term client relationships within the nonprofit sector. You will oversee planning, fieldwork, and reporting across a diverse nonprofit client portfolio, ensure quality, and stay current with evolving nonprofit accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's a plus).
• 5–7+ years of audit experience in a public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, and developing audit staff.
• Excellent client relationship management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit Engagement Management: Lead and manage audit engagements for nonprofit clients, oversee planning, fieldwork, reporting, and deliverables; develop engagement budgets and staffing plans.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as primary contact for nonprofit clients; maintain relationships and provide recommendations to improve financial reporting and internal controls.
• Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor audit staff; review workpapers and provide guidance; coordinate staffing and budgets.
• Nonprofit Accounting & Compliance: Apply nonprofit accounting principles; review Form 990 filings; stay updated on nonprofit standards and regulatory requirements.
