Job summary

Farmers Insurance Careers in North Alabama is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster to assess property damage, negotiate settlements, and manage investigations in the field. The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across northern Alabama.

Job location spans virtual to in‑person duties with travel for catastrophe deployments as needed; a valid driver’s license and readiness to learn about insurance policies are

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage and negotiate settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine damage and write estimates.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate agencies.
• Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, and other stakeholders regularly.
