Job summary

BRHP seeks a Staff Accountant to join its nonprofit finance team in Baltimore, MD. You will oversee key financial transactions, maintain internal controls, and support HUD reporting and audits.

Responsibilities include monthly payments, vendor setup, deposit processing, and assisting the Finance Director and Deputy in financial operations. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 1–2 years nonprofit experience with federal funds are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 1–2 years nonprofit financial operations with federal funds experience.
• Advanced knowledge of financial management and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly payment process of approximately $7 million.
• Prepare VMS financial and HUD reporting.
• Manage vendor setup and changes to vendor details.
• Manage deposit handling and transaction recording in the accounting system.
• Manage repayment agreement transactions.
• Provide staff support to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
• Assist with yearly financial audits and tax returns.
• Assist with special projects.
• Support the Finance Operations Director & Deputy and the Executive Director.
