Job summary

Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) is seeking a Program Accountant to perform accounting, budgeting, and financial duties for diverse programs and activities. The incumbent analyzes financial data, prepares statements, reconciles accounts, and supports HUD and city reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting/finance and at least 4 years of experience; CPA preferred. Travel and some evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field(s) and 4+ years of general ledger accounting or auditing experience.
• CPA designation preferred; equivalent combinations considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis for grants and programs.
• Maintains general ledger accounts, journals, AR/AP, and fixed assets.
• Prepares bank reconciliations and financial reports; supports tax forms and year-end closing.
