Job summary

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City is seeking an experienced accountant to support its financial operations, focusing on the development, analysis, and maintenance of comprehensive financial statements, trial balance, and program reporting.

You will coordinate with program managers, prepare monthly imports for HCVP and Public Housing, perform reconciliations, and support year-end closing and HUD reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field(s).
• 4+ years of general ledger accounting or auditing experience.
• CPA designation preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex accounting, budget, and financial analysis functions for grants and programs.
• Maintains all assigned general ledger accounts, performs journal entries, and monitors AR/AP and fixed assets.
• Reviews and processes City invoices, including utilities and services.
• Assists with tax forms and year-end settlement reports.
• Recommends workflow improvements and ensures corrective actions.
