Job summary

TemPositions seeks a highly organized Non-profit Operations Assistant for a 3-month, on-site assignment in New York City. This part‑time role is 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., paid at $31/hr.

You will support the Finance and Development Department with donor processing, acknowledgment letters, donor database maintenance (DonorPerfect), QuickBooks entries, and scheduling for the Executive Director and board.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in an office environment, preferably NYC.
  • Experience in a nonprofit space.
  • Experience with fundraising and finance software, databases, and platforms is highly preferred.
  • Quick learner, flexible, adaptable, proactive self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Process all donations, including paper checks and online donations.
  • Generate acknowledgment letters for the Executive Director’s review and signature.
  • Assist in managing donor database (DonorPerfect), including pulling lists, running reports, and cleaning up data.
  • Respond to donor inquiries and other basic donor correspondence.
  • QuickBooks entries.
  • Bank deposits.
  • Office management duties, such as maintaining office supplies.
  • Scheduling meetings for the Executive Director and other senior staff.
  • Supporting Board meetings, including scheduling, set-up, etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to support the senior staff team and Board as needed.

Location: New York City, New York, Zip 10023 – On-site

Job Summary

Seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented team player to serve as a temporary, part-time Operations Assistant. This employee will have nonprofit experience and provide vital assistance to the Finance and Development Department during the critical year-end fundraising season. Accounting is a plus but not necessary.

Responsibilities
Development and Fundraising
  • Process all donations, including paper checks and online donations.

  • Generate acknowledgment letters for the Executive Director’s review and signature.

  • Assist in managing donor database (DonorPerfect), including pulling lists, running reports, and cleaning up data.

  • Respond to donor inquiries and other basic donor correspondence

Finance & Operations
  • QuickBooks entries

  • Bank deposits

  • Office management duties, such as maintaining office supplies, etc.

Executive Support
  • Scheduling meetings for the Executive Director and other senior staff

  • Supporting Board meetings, including scheduling, set-up, etc.

  • Other tasks as assigned. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to support the senior staff team and Board as needed.

Required Skills / Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of NetSuite preferred.

  • Ability to learn new systems and programs.

  • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent typing and data entry skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a team, independently, and under pressure.

  • Exceptional time-management skills.
