Job summary

The University of Oregon Foundation seeks an Accounting Associate to support operational and transactional accounting, including disbursements, reconciliations, vendor management, scholarship administration, and customer service. You will be a key contact for stakeholders, assist with month-end activities, and support special projects while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years of nonprofit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in nonprofit, higher education, or foundation accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with vendor and scholarship administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and review cash disbursement requests (CDRs) for completeness.
• Coordinate approvals, documentation, and payments in line with policy.
• Reconcile scholarship transactions and maintain records.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and AP check reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end, year-end, and reporting.
• Monitor Zendesk tickets and respond to accounting inquiries.
