Job summary

The Senior Accountant at University of Oregon Foundation serves as a key technical accounting resource responsible for complex transactions, endowment and investment accounting, and financial reporting to support the Foundation's mission.

Collaborates with leadership, auditors, tax advisors and campus partners to ensure regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and accurate disclosures while pursuing process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Strong understanding of endowment, investment, and fund accounting.
• Experience preparing audited financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, financial system implementations, and process redesign.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare endowment accounting processes and related journal entries.
• Coordinate annual endowment reporting and distributions.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Support audit procedures and internal control documentation.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and tax-related schedules.
• Lead complex reconciliations and journal entries; analyze variances.
