Job summary

The University of Oregon Foundation is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support timely reporting across general, payroll, and trust accounting. You will collaborate with senior staff and campus partners to ensure reliable transaction processing and compliance.

You will assist with audits, tax, and system improvements while driving process efficiency and internal controls. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience with nonprofit, higher education, foundation, endowment, or fund accounting environments.
• Experience processing payroll, preparing payroll-related journal entries, and performing payroll reconciliations.
• Experience supporting annual audits, tax return preparation, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with ERP systems, accounting software implementations, or system conversions.
• Familiarity with donor-restricted funds, grant accounting, trust accounting, or endowment accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process gift revenue transactions and donor restriction activity.
• Process semi-monthly payroll and payroll-related journal entries.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, benefit-related activity and related liabilities.
• Assist with audit, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Support accounting system enhancements and process-improvement initiatives.
• Document accounting procedures and workflows; assist with special projects.
