Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a dynamic Controller to join its executive leadership team for a prominent non-profit client. This role leads financial strategy, oversees accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and partners with senior leaders to drive growth while ensuring strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, CPA and/or MBA preferred, and strong ERP/Excel skills, with a track record of strategic impact in nonprofit settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience at executive level.
• Proven experience developing financial strategy and supporting growth.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls.
• Experience leading finance teams and collaborating with executives.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

This individual will be responsible for leading the non-profit organization's financial strategy, driving operational efficiencies, and providing executive-level guidance that supports long-term growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience leading finance teams and collaborating with executive leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a multi-entity organization is highly preferred.
• Background leading financial transformations, process improvements, or system implementations.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence strategic decision-making.
