Job summary

American College of Cardiology (Washington, DC) seeks a Contract & Legal Affairs Associate to provide legal and contractual support for programs and operations. You will draft, negotiate, and manage service, collaboration, license, and meeting agreements while maintaining templates and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role collaborates with program leaders, development, finance, HR, and compliance teams to streamline contracting and mitigate risk in a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and bar admission preferred.
• Experience in contract review, drafting, negotiation or legal support.
• Knowledge of nonprofit, tax-exemption and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and manage various contracts and templates.
• Advise on contract structure, SOWs, and compliance requirements.
• Support proposal responses, bids, and contract modifications.
• Ensure contract compliance, timely payment schedules, and deadlines.
• Maintain contractual records and improve management processes.
• Provide legal research on contracts, governance, privacy, and compliance.
