Job summary

The Charity CFO, LLC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead a 7–8 person accounting team and advise nonprofit clients. This role emphasizes strategic financial management, client relations, and team development.

Responsibilities include overseeing monthly closes, budgeting, KPI review, and providing CFO-level guidance to client leadership, while ensuring GAAP compliance and service quality in a hybrid St. Louis environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting or public accounting as an auditor or outsourced accountant.
• 2–4 years of experience building and managing a team.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead team staff meetings and training.
• Run weekly 1:1 check-ins with team members and remove roadblocks.
• Maintain effective client communication and de-escalate concerns as needed.
• Oversee monthly financial reports and budgeting analyses for nonprofit clients.
• Act as CFO and strategic advisor to assigned clients with proactive accounting guidance.
