Job summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) directs the organization's financial operations in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit financial management best practices. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and oversight of all financial activities.

This position reports directly to the President & CEO. This role leads budgeting, treasury, grants compliance, and investment management while ensuring accountability to the Board through

Qualifications

• Ten to fifteen (10-15) years of related experience and/or training.
• Mix of non-profit and corporate experience preferred.
• Treasury, investment management, and contract management experience required.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, endowed, and restricted funds.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's financial planning, operations, performance, and fiscal management.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage the annual budget process and board approval.
• Provide financial counsel on contracts and agreements.
• Oversee government grants compliance and SEFA preparation.
• Direct treasury management activities, including banking relationships and liquidity.
• Develop cash flow projections and forecasting.
