Job summary

Caritas Family Solutions, a $62 million nonprofit in Southern Illinois, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive Leadership Team. You will shape financial strategy, oversee budgeting, reporting, and compliance, and partner with the CEO and Board to ensure long-term sustainability.

This role requires seven to ten years of nonprofit financial leadership, GAAP expertise, and proven ability to manage diverse funding streams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Seven to ten years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably nonprofit or mission-driven.
• Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Experience managing diverse funding streams, grants, and contracts.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies that support growth and long-term sustainability.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and scenario modeling.
• Provide strategic financial counsel to CEO, leadership team, and Board.
• Oversee accounting, reporting, cash management, investments, audits, and compliance.
• Ensure accurate reporting across grants, contracts, and funding sources.
• Strengthen financial systems, controls, and processes for efficiency.
• Monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop solutions.
• Evaluate financial implications of strategic initiatives and partnerships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Serve as Secretary/Treasurer for supporting boards.
