Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is hiring an Accountant I to maintain accounting records, prepare reports, and analyze program expenditures in a non-profit setting. The role supports accounting functions, budgeting processes, and audit readiness to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

The position requires AP voucher approval, general ledger analysis, and producing timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Ability to perform under emotional stress and handle challenging clients.

Responsabilités

• Approves AP vouchers and codes expenses and charges.
• Analyzes general ledger accounts and program financials; participates in budget prep.
• Prepares monthly billing and drawdown.
• Maintains accounting controls per policies and Federal/state requirements.
• Prepares closeout reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly) for funders.
