Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking an Accountant I to maintain accounting records, prepare reports, and analyze program expenditures. The role supports nonprofit finance operations and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

The position requires 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, a bachelor’s in finance, business, or accounting, and proficiency with accounting software, preferably Great Plains.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and federal grant reporting preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Approve AP vouchers and code expenses.
• Analyze general ledger and program financials; assist in budgeting.
• Prepare monthly billing and drawdown reports; support audits.
