Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Financial Assistant II to perform financial data entry and maintain accounting records while assisting the Accounting department.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in finance, business or accounting (or equivalent coursework) and 3 years of bookkeeping/finance experience, with familiarity in QuickBooks and Great Plains software. This is an in-office role with mandated responsibility for accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in finance, business or accounting, or equivalent college coursework (two years).
• 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting or Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting
• Familiar with QuickBooks and Great Plains accounting software

Responsibilities

• Assist in updating and maintaining financial records
• Assist in preparing and posting the general and accrual entries
• Assist in preparation of settling budgets
• Assist with audits as necessary
• Manage data, records, and reports by checking for errors and verifying accuracy of information
• Performs other tasks as directed by senior accountant or financial manager
