Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Financial Assistant II to perform financial data entry, maintain accounting records, and provide general support to the Accounting department.

The role requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance, business or accounting with relevant experience, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Great Plains. The position involves mandated reporting responsibilities and data validation tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in finance, business or accounting, or equivalent college coursework (two years).
• 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting or Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in finance, business or accounting preferred.
• Familiar with QuickBooks and Great Plains accounting software.
• Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain financial records.
• Prepare and post general and accrual entries.
• Assist in preparation of settling budgets.
• Assist with audits as necessary.
• Manage data, records, and reports by checking for errors and verifying accuracy of information.
• Assist senior accountant or financial manager as directed.
