Job summary

Parkland Behavioral Health, part of HCA Healthcare, invites a Non-Licensed Clinic Manager to lead clinical and administrative functions in a busy practice. You will supervise staff, implement goals and clinical plans, and ensure high quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have five years of clinical office experience, including two in clinic management; training as a medical assistant, or equivalent RN/LPN education; and flexibility to work with diverse teams. Growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Five years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is required including 2 years in a clinical management position.
• Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants; course-work in health care office management preferred. RN, LPN (LVN), or additional appropriate education may be substituted for certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical and administrative operations within the clinic or practice.
• Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems for the assigned clinical areas.
• Participate in the development and implementation of clinical plans.
• Select, train, orient, and supervise departmental personnel; manage work assignments and daily operations.
• Evaluate performance and recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
• Resolve problems in clinical areas and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist fiscal management with cost-effective policies for all clinical areas, including billing and space planning.
• Monitor and control clinical expenditures to stay within budget.
• Serve as liaison between the clinic and external agencies.
• Work with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and ongoing professional development.

Education

Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants; course-work in health care office management preferred

RN, LPN (LVN), or additional appropriate education may be substituted for certification

Job Summary and Qualifications

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manages one or more clinical and administrative functions related to the operations and quality of the clinic or practice. Serves in a leadership role within the practice. Typically functions within a Level 4 or Level 5 Practice.

SUPERVISOR: Practice Administrator

SUPERVISES: Supervises staff assigned within a department or practice.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. May have direct patient care duties.

2. Helps establish/implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems for the assigned clinical areas.

3. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical plans.

4. Selects, trains/orients, and supervises departmental personnel. Responsible for work assignment and daily operations.

5. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

6. Resolves problems in clinical areas and ensures compliance with regulations and standards.

7. Helps fiscal management and other administrative staff to develop/implement cost effective policies and procedures for all clinical areas, as well as billing, insurance, fee schedules, credit/collections, purchasing, and space planning.

8. Monitors and controls clinical expenditures to remain within budget.

9. Serves as liaison between clinic and external agencies.

1. Works with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided.
2. Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices.
3. Maintains strictest confidentiality.

14. Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION:

• Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants, and course-work in health care office management are preferred. RN, LPN (LVN), or additional appropriate education may be substituted for certification.
• Additional appropriate experience as a Medical Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

EXPERIENCE:

• Five years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is required including 2 years in a clinical management position.
