Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Manager on Duty to oversee the Non-Food Department and overall store operations. You will drive inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and customer service while safeguarding assets.

Responsibilities include approving refunds and overrides, managing cash controls, training staff, and ensuring proper stocking, pricing, and planogram execution. Prior retail leadership and grocery/general merchandise experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate a cash register and ensure accuracy.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read planograms and follow merchandising guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Non-Food Department and store when on duty.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; manage cash and banking procedures.
• Lead store operations in the absence of Store/Assistant Manager.
• Train employees and oversee scheduling coverage.
• Ensure proper stocking and presentation of Non-Food products.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control markdowns to minimize losses.
• Execute pricing, signage, and shelf readiness per policy.
• Ensure safe, secure working and shopping environments.
