Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to oversee the Non-Food Department and total store operations under supervision. You will ensure inventory accuracy, appealing merchandise presentation, and high-quality customer service while enforcing safety and asset protection.

Responsibilities include cash handling, training associates, scheduling coverage, and maintaining compliance with company policies. Prior retail leadership experience is preferred to meet store goals and standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate cash registers and manage deposits.
• Familiarity with plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• Willingness to obtain required food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Non-Food Department and the store in the Store Manager's absence.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; supervise cash handling and bank deposits.
• Provide training to associates on stock, presentation, and recovery standards.
• Assist in scheduling coverage and maintaining store security procedures.
• Lead by training assigned associates in proper stocking and checkout processes.
• Ensure adherence to cash handling procedures and company security practices.
