Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Manager on Duty to oversee the Non-Food Department and overall store operations in Florida. You will ensure inventory integrity, merchandising, customer service, safety, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities include leading associates, signing refunds/overrides, managing cash controls, and coordinating scheduling while maintaining store standards and loss prevention; prior retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications.
• Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.

Responsibilities

• Authorize refunds and overrides; sign for refunds; count register.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Manage store in Manager on duty's absence.
• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Manager in training employees.
• Train associates in Non-Food stocking and presentation standards.
• Assist in ensuring adequate scheduling coverage.
• Record Non-Food Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Assist in sanitation standards and training for Non-Food area.
• Ensure execution of 7 Day Workflow Plan related to stocking standards.
• Utilize HHT to prevent out of stocks and overstocks.
• Organize receiving area and ensure merchandise presentation per plan.
• Ensure proper price changes and signage; manage Tote Inventory.
• Minimize damages and maintain accurate inventory; cash controls.
• Ensure safety and security during supervision.
• Follow prescribed policies and procedures.
