Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Food Department Manager on Duty to oversee store operations, inventory control, and customer service in Florida. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with food handling rules, and maintain safe, profitable merchandise presentation.

Responsibilities include cash accountability, training, scheduling, and adherence to security practices while supporting the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Proficient in math and percentage calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate cash registers and reconcile cash.
• Ability to read plan-of-gram and maintain merchandise presentation.
• Must be able to obtain local food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Food Department and act as manager on duty when designated.
• Oversee refunds, overrides, and bank deposits with cash accountability.
• Provide training to employees and support to Store/Assistant Managers.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with food handling rules and regs.
• Monitor inventory, markdowns, pricing accuracy, and stock rotation.
• Coordinate receiving, stocking standards, and shelf presentation.
