Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to lead the Non‑Food Department and oversee the entire store during assigned shifts. You will ensure accurate cash handling, train associates, and maintain merchandise presentation and recovery standards.

Responsibilities include supervising scheduling, coordinating with the Store Manager, and directing receiving and stocking for new deliveries while upholding safety and store policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Willingness to obtain required food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Non-Food Department and store when designated as Manager on duty.
• Ensure cash accountability and deposits are performed accurately.
• Assist in training and developing associates.
• Lead in stocking, presentation, and recovery standards.
• Oversee scheduling coverage and store operations in the absence of Store/Asst. Manager.
• Direct merchandise receiving and staging for new deliveries.
