Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Manager on Duty to lead the Non-Food Department and oversee the store when designated as the manager on duty. You will ensure efficient inventory management, appealing merchandise presentation, and quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Under supervision, you will support other managers, assist in training employees, manage cash handling and secure store assets, and help execute company policies and procedures for safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management or supervisory roles.
• Strong cash handling and security practices knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow store standards for merchandise presentation and shelving.

Responsibilities

• Authorize refunds and overrides; count register and deposit funds.
• Maintain cash accountability and adhere to cash control procedures.
• Manage store in absence of Store/Asst Manager.
• Provide training support to employees as directed.
• Train associates in stocking Non-Food products and presentation standards.
• Help enforce scheduling coverage and labor plans.
• Record markdowns and investigate causes to prevent recurrence.
• Support store safety and sanitation with Cleaning Schedule compliance.
• Assist with 7 Day Workflow Plan, stock rotation, and inventory control.
