Job summary

Jack Frost and Big Boulder Ski Resort is seeking an enthusiastic snowboard instructor for the winter season. You will teach group and private lessons to guests, with a focus on children, delivering top-tier service in a safe, fun environment.

Starting wage is $20/hour, with full-time and part-time hours available. Training and eligibility to work across departments may apply; housing is not provided. Minimum age 16; must pass training and safety standards. Pennsylvania clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to snowboard on groomed blue terrain.
• Must be comfortable working with children aged 3+.
• Must communicate fluently in English.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Teach group and private lessons.
• Work with guests of all ages, focusing on children.
• Deliver world-class guest service.
• Create a safe and fun learning environment.
• Support snow sports school operations (scanning, lifts, lunch, equipment).
• Provide guest feedback that inspires lifelong snowboarders.

Job Specifications

• Starting Wage: $20/hr
• Pay range reflects minimum base wages; instructors may have opportunities to earn more with additional teaching incentives
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
• Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time hours available. For Full-Time Instructors, a 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed. Scheduled hours will vary depending on business volume.

Job Requirements

• Must be comfortable and competent snowboarding on groomed blue terrain
• Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must be willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements.
• Must be comfortable being in snowboard boots for extended period of time
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.

As a Non-Certified Snowboard Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one-resort mentality which could include:

• Lift Experience
• Mountain Activities
• Food and Beverage Support
• Base Area Operations
• Retail Rental Operations

Additional requirements for hires under age 18:

Submission of a Parental Consent Form upon hire, along with other applicable documents required by state law; such as a work permit, physician's note, and/or proof of birthdate

The expected pay range is$20/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
